Yesterday was pretty darn windy but the fishing was still decent if you could get your drift out there. We had a big guided trip of anglers who decided to brave the weather yesterday and were all rewarded with good times and good fishing. They all spread out in different places along the Madison and did some walk wading.
When the temps get warm in the Winter it definately makes sense to take advantage of the good fishing. We are on our Winter rates until March 1st so a full day guide trip is $350 between now and then. Feels pretty awesome to be catching fish in the winter and not be miserably cold.
If this unseasonally warm weather has you nervous for lack of cool water come Summer just take a look at the snowpack report for Montana
As you can see most of our areas are sitting on 100% or more of the average snowpack. We also have the factor that April is typically the biggest snow month of the year, we may still have a lot of Winter to go. It's hard to tell what will happen with the weather between now and then but in my short life i can remember a few times when it got warm in Jan-Feb and then dumped tons of snow in March-April. We'll keep you posted but for now we feel pretty good about the water levels for Summer fishing around Bozeman.
