Copper mugs are back in stock at the shop! Just in time for Christmas parties. These things also make a really great stocking stuffer. Copper mugs are the traditional (and some would say only) way to go if you're making Moscow Mules. While the Mule may be considered more of a refreshing summer drink, I say it's pretty darn good year round.
Since we just happened to get these in on Thirsty Thursday, here's a recipe for Moscow Mules.
Bozeman Angler Copper Mug (buy yours here)
Ginger Beer (Cock n Bull or Reed's Ginger Brew)
Here's what you do:
Fill the copper mug about half way with ice. Squeeze the juice of one fresh lime (fresh is always the way to go) into the mug. Pour in a shot of Vodka. Feel free to add more if needed. Top with ginger beer, throw in a slice or two of lime, stir and enjoy. Please note that you need ginger beer to make a true Moscow Mule. Ginger ale will work in a pinch, but ginger beer has much more of that good ginger "bite" you need.
Again, some would agrue that Christmas is time for more warm, hearty drinks. And while the Mule is best a long, hot day on the river, it's a great drink for any occasion. It can even bring back fond memories of warm weather and dry fly fishing when the snow is falling. It goes well during fly tying nights too...
