Agenda of the fly fishing classes will go as followed:
May 14th, 2016
Starting at 9:00 AM
Depending on weather, the casting could be in the morning or later in the afternoon. The casting lesson will go for 1-2 hours depending on everyones comfort level and learning speed. We will be walking down to Beal or Lindly park right here in Downtown Bozeman.
Once back at the shop we will go upstairs in the classroom area we have and start in on the nerdy side of things.
We will teach you a couple essential knots that will help you in whatever situation you may find yourself in while out on the water.
Fly selection, one of single most important things to know to be a successful fisherman/fisherwoman. Our rivers are very diverse and have a long list of insects that will hatch throughout the year all at different times. Also go over a few patterns worth fishing everyday you get out to the water.
And maybe the most important thing of all, proper river edicate. We will discuss a few things you can do to treat our fish, our rivers and the fisherman that frequent these rivers with the respect they all deserve. It is very important that fishing remains an activity we all do for fun and soulful enrichment rather than feeding the egos of people that are in it just for the pictures of the grip and grins. Granted those are always great but it is not why we fish. Remember that.
Cost is $125 per person and everything including lunch is covered by that.
Also, if you are unable to make it this months class that is okay!! We will be having this same course every second Saturday of each month. Feel free to come on in or give us a call if you have more questions about the class.
Hope to see you all out there either on the river or in the shop!
