The Upper has been slowing down quite a bit over the past few weeks. Water temps are creeping up above 70 degrees in the afternoons almost every day. Nighttime water temps are still dropping down pretty low, but those day time temps are stressing fish out. If you do fish up here, you will do much better if you hit the water early and get off by the early afternoon. The fishing will be better and it will be a lot easier on the fish.
Ants, beetles, and hoppers are working really well right now. You might see some nocturnal stoneflies if you are on the water early enough. Hopper dropper rigs are a good options. Nymphs like rubberlegs, copper johns, soft hackles and lil spankers make great droppers.
