You know it's going to be a good day on the water when you haven't even been there for more than a couple mores and have already lost track of how many fish you've caught.
While Peter and I are stuck in the shop on this beautiful and sunny day, shop guy Ethan and guide Ken Stock are out on the Missouri. In the sunshine. Catching fish. Hand over fist. And sending me lots of pictures. Damn.
Those days when the fishing is just lights out can be few and far between and should always be enjoyed. If you know where to go and what to use and the conditions line up, you can have days like that even in the middle of winter. Some of the best days of fishing I've ever seen or had have been in the winter months.
And now it's finally March, a month when days stretch longer, temps warm up and the fishing generally gets a whole lot better. And for winters like this one where the fishing is already really good this is good news. March is a great month to be outside and on the river. This one is shaping up to have some really great fishing.
If you're ever curious as to where to go or what to use, stop by the shop! We'll get you fixed up.
