Bahamas Dreaming
Finally got some nice snow falling in the Gallatin valley which just adds to the good snowpack. Snow really just makes me think of going to the saltwater to stalk some bonefish. I have a trip planned down to Long Island, Bahamas in April for some killer sightfishing to tailing bones. The guided part of it will be hosted by outfitter Sammy Knowles at Smith & Wells bonefish lodge. A real honest place with a strong emphasis on eagle eyed guides who work their hardest to get you into fish. Plenty of shots at bones in the 2-5 lb. range with somebody always landing a 6-9lb. fish during the week. Also daily oppurtunities for barracuda, snapper, grouper, lemon sharks, jacks, and other ocean species all on the fly. We do have one space open for a single and one couple space as well for the week of April 15-22. The price is $2195.00 for six days guided fishing, seven days lodging, and all meals based on double occupancy. Which really is a hell of a good deal considering the average price of a bahamas lodge is twice what they charge and you will be fishing with the most professional and talented guides in the Bahamas.
So if your getting tired of breaking the ice out of your guides as you throw midge pupas consider what it might be like to enjoy a cuban and a kalik at the end of the day on the flats having fiesty bones take you repeatedly into your backing.
