Two Fly
Guided my friends Dudley and Sue for the Two Fly Event yesterday and it totally rocked. This is the Two Fly's first year as an event and fundraiser for the museum of the rockies and went off like a bang with an all-star group of guides and fly fisher folks. The guides competed in a casting contest to choose which floats they would do which was interesting considering the rod used for the competition was a 7' 000wt. The winner of the casting competition none other than my father Rod King. I guess growing up fishing a 6'6" bamboo rod paid off for the old man, i was so proud. I didn't fair nearly as well int he competition but still ended up with the stretch i originally wanted, the lower Madison. In the spirit of the Two Fly event we stuck to only two flies all day. Hopper and a parachute adams were really all we needed for some nice browns and rainbows. Thanks to everybody who worked so hard to put this event on and i can't wait for next year's two fly. i kind of wish everyday of fishing was like that, just pick a couple flies and make them work.
