I knew yesterday that a hike into Bear Trap Canyon would offer some amazing scenery and solitude with a decent chance of finding some angry browns.  Brought the spey rod to focus only on streamer fishing and after an hour or so of nothing I was jolted awake by a familiar and extremely addictive tug. Got into a few healthy trout on black zonkers and olive sculpzillas satiating my streamer habit for now.

The rowing clinic was a blast yesterday.  Woke up to dark clouds and cold pissing rain and i was pleseantly suprised to see the few girls who braved the storm and showed up in the morning.  By the time we arrived at the lower Madison it was nothing but blue skies and the grey clouds hung tight to the steep rock walls of bear trap canyon.  Went over a few basic rowing strokes, stopping the boat, skulling, and polite river etiquette.  The girls grasped the concepts well and...

So the fishing is great, the weather unquestionably comfy, the scenery a slough of colors very reminiscent to that of a spawning Brown trout.  Did i mention the large decrease in other people recreating as well.  So the change in season brings all this beauty and serenity, remind me again what is so great about summer time.  So now that i've had a brief rant back to the fishing.  

The Yellowstone continues to fish great with Hoppers on sunny days and BWO's on cloudy...
